Is PET plastic safe to use for drinking water?

Yes. We only use food-grade, virgin PET. This means that our bottles are non-toxic, BPA-free and do not contain any harmful chemicals. All PET bottles from Aarke have also been tested and approved according to the German LFGB standard, California Prop 65 and FDA CFR 21.

Why can't the bottle be cleaned in the dishwasher?

Though the Aarke PET Bottle is engineered to be extremely durable, it can only withstand a maximum temperature of 104 °F (40°C). Most dishwashers operate at extremely high temperatures, placing the structural integrity of the bottle at risk. Therefore, the bottle should be washed manually and never placed in the dishwasher. The best way to clean your Aarke PET Water Bottle is by using clean lukewarm water and a mild detergent. If using a dishwashing brush, please make sure it is intended for cleaning plastic bottles. Once washed, store the bottle with its cap off.

What is the capacity of Aarke PET Water Bottle?

Our bottle has a special marked filling line to help avoid excess water flowing into the spill tray during carbonation. The capacity of the bottle up to the filling line is 27.1 fl oz / 800 ml and this is how much water can be carbonated at once. The capacity of the whole bottle equals approximately 34 fl oz / 1 L. The capacity of the Small PET Water Bottle up to the filling line is 15.2 fl oz / 450 ml and this is how much water can be carbonated at once. The capacity of the whole bottle equals 22 fl oz / 650 ml.

Why does the PET bottle have an expiration date?

The expiration date on our PET bottle is an important safety measure. Replacing the PET bottle when it has reached its expiration date is essential for safety reasons. After the expiration date, the plastic in the PET bottle may have weakened, and is no longer suitable for carbonated water.

Is the Aarke PET Water Bottle recyclable?

Yes. At the end of its lifetime you can unscrew the bottom metal part, remove the cap and recycle the components separately.

These bottles are tight upon closure which keeps the Bubbles in the bottles for days. One bottle is two full glasses of water. I keep three and rotate through the refrigerator and can get through a day successfully in Southern California.

NIcely shaped bottle.. good for displaying at a table.

Excellent product.

Quality is perfect

Such a great looking bottle. Sadly, the original one that came with the unit was put in the dishwasher. Needless to say, it melted, hence the purchase of a new one. The quality is so much nicer and better than the soda stream version we had to replace the original one with.

We bought these two bottles to replace our two original bottles that got destroyed after we put them in the dishwasher.
Don't do that! The metal on the bottles heated up the PET plastic and dramatically warped them.
Maybe the packaging warned that but we had the original bottles for years.
They should put a printed warning right on the bottle.
Hand wash only!
